MARBLES
Rules – Marbles involves rolling or throwing your marble to hit either a target marble or
the other players’ marbles. Decide if you are playing for "keepsies" (players keep the mar-
bles they win in the game) or "playing fair" (everyone gets their own marbles back at the
end of the game). Draw a circle on the ground. Each player should put a chosen number
of marbles in the circle and stand behind a line drawn some distance away. The object of
the game is to hit the marbles out of the circle.
Take turns rolling, throwing or flicking a marble (called a "shooter") into the circle, hit -
ting marbles out of it. If you knock a marble out of the circle, you get to keep it. If the
"shooter" remains in the circle, it stays there, and it’s the next player’s turn. If the shooter
leaves the circle, you can retrieve it and take another turn. Turns continue until all of the
marbles in the circle have been won. The person with the most marbles wins.
RING TOSS
Each player has four rings which they toss onto an upright peg. The game can be played
alone, against another player, or in teams.
HORSESHOES
Points are scored by pitching horseshoes at a stake. A pitched horseshoe can completely
encircles the stake (a "ringer") or land near the stake. The game is played by either two
people or two teams of two people.
TIC TAC TOE
(The game is also known as "X's and O's" or "Noughts and Crosses".) This is a game for 2
players. The player who goes first selects either "X" or "O." Players take turns placing one
piece each. The first person to line up 3 pieces in a row first wins (vertically, horizontally
or diagonally).
POKER DICE
Throw all five dice. Two more throws are allowed to produce the best possible hand. As few
or as many of the dice may be changed as desired with each throw.

Five of a kind – e.g., AAAAA
Royal Straight – e.g., A, K, Q, J, 10
Four of a kind – e.g., KKKK
Straight – e.g., K, Q, J, 10, 9
Full House – e.g., KKKJJ
Three of a kind – e.g., JJJ
Two pairs – e.g., KK JJ
One pair – e.g., 10, 10
KNOCK HOCKEY
Action game played where you knock a puck through a goal using small hockey sticks.
Object of the Game – To score a predetermined number of points or to score the most
