Pattern B: C500 PLCs in Single-level LK003 Mode Only
The pattern B system contains only C500 PLCs operating in single-level
LK003 mode. The PC Link’s level setting must be changed to single-level
LK009 mode. All 3G2A5-LK003-E and 3G2A5-LK009 PC Link Units in the PC
Link must be replaced with C500-LK009-V1 PC Link Units (including 3G2A5-
LK003-E and 3G2A5-LK009 PC Link Units in PLCs other than the one being
replaced).

Use the following checklist when replacing a 3G2A5-LK003-E with a C500-
LK009-V1.

the CPU Unit is a C500

LK009-V1’s node
address in the 0 to 7
range as well.
Check the node address
settings on other nodes in
the PC Link to confirm
that the same address is
not already taken.
A Unit error will
not
be
detected if the same
node address is set on
two PC Link Units in the
same PC Link, but there
will be data errors in the
LR Area.

Pins 1 and 2 of the front-panel
switch are not used and do not
affect the node address setting.
When a C500 PLC is being used, the node
address setting range is 0 to 7. Do not set a
node address higher than 7.

Make the “number of LR
bits” setting on the polling
node (node 0) in the PC
Link. The “number of LR
bits” settings on the other
nodes (polled nodes) are
ignored.
Set the replacement
C500-LK009-V1’s level/
link number (next item in
table) to single-level
LK009 mode. Settings
011 to 111 are invalid set-
tings in the C500-LK009-
V1.
