EFFECTS
The built-in digital effect processor allows for producing three different sound effects for the which be
modified by parameters for time and intensity. The time-related effect parameters are based on the BPM
values detected by the beatcounter and are automatically synchronized to the beat. Thus, they respond to
the rhythm of the music. Manual adjustment of parameters is also possible.
Echo, Flanger and Filter
Switch on the desired effect with the
corresponding button:
• ECHO: The effect processor delays the signal
which creates echo sounds.
• FLANGER: The effect processor creates a
continuous sound displacement resembling the
take-off of a jet plane.
• FILTER: The effect processor works as a high-
pass or low-pass filter.
• The button lights.
Beat-synchronized Effect Time
1
Activate the setting mode for the effect time
(parameter X) with the selector switch [
⊳
]
so that the yellow LED next to the switch
lights up.
2
Now, the effect time can be comfortably
adjusted with the presets of the beat
assignment buttons [
⊳
] and [ ]. The LEDs
between the buttons show the delay time by
the number of beats.
• The display inserts the corresponding
parameter value in milliseconds.
Effect time and Intensity to be
Adjusted as Desired
With the buttons TIME and RATIO the effect time
(parameter X) and the intensity (parameter Y) can
be adjusted as desired.
1
Activate the setting mode for the effect time
with the button TIME (LED lights).
• As a result, the automatic beat
synchronization is turned off.
2
Then adjust the effect time with the jogdial
between 0 and 9990 ms.
• The display inserts the X parameter value in
milliseconds.
3
To set the intensity (parameter Y), activate
the setting mode with the button RATIO and
adjust a value between 0 and 255 with the
jogdial.
• The display inserts the Y parameter value.
Saving Parameter Settings
The manual parameter settings will only be active
temporarily. As soon as you release the jogdial,
the effect processor will automatically return to the
default value. Press the button HOLD (LED lights)
to save your parameter settings.
Start and Brake Effects
The starting and braking of an analog turntable
platter can be simulated.
1
Adjust the starting time between 0 and 10
seconds with the control START. With 0
seconds selected, the effect will be disabled.
2
Adjust the braking time between 0 and 10
seconds with the control BRAKE. With 0
seconds selected, the effect will be disabled.
3
When starting the playback with the button
[►
II
] and using the jogdial, the title will start
slowly according to the adjustment.
4
When stopping the playback with the button
[►
II
] and using the jogdial, the title will be
braked slowly according to the adjustment.
5
If the jogdial is continuously turned in a
counterclockwise direction in Pitch Bend
mode, the playback speed will decrease to a
maximum of -100 %, i.e. the standstill of the
title. The pitch slide control also decreases
the playback speed to a maximum of -100 %.
This effect corresponds to the stopping of an
analog turntable as well.
Reverse Play
1
Press the button REV to switch on reverse
play (LED lights).
2
To switch back to normal play, press the
button again (LED off).
