3. With normal daylight shining into the cell, the needle will deflect about half way to the right. If this happens,

the selenium cell and meter are working fine. If the needle doesn’t move, the cell and the meter might still be
working OK. Remove the brass plate above the meter needle, and check to see if a loose screw has been
attracted to the meter magnet.
