Flip completed rafter section over so that
soffit is facing the ground. Locate first row of
3/4” thick x 3 1/2” wide Roof Battens
(1 pc. - 39” long & 1 pc.- 74” long).
Start with
outside 39” and place 1/8” back from end of
rafter.

Attach 39” long batten with 2
- 1 1/4” screws to center of double
rafter and secure both ends. Pre-
drill with 1/8” drill bit first to prevent
ends from splitting.

Attach 74” long batten with 5 -1 1/4”
screws to complete the first row of battens.
