Replacing Parts

If the new FRU solves the problem that you are troubleshooting, use the dongle provided with FRU to transfer options
to the FRU.
If you determine while in Service Mode that the problem you are troubleshooting was not fixed by installing a new
FRU, do not expend the FRU dongle to transfer options to the FRU (described below), do not install system software,
and do not replace the hard disk drive. Reinstall the old unit, and return the FRU with the unused dongle to inventory.
You may then perform additional service and troubleshooting procedures.
To transfer parts to the field replaceable unit

Remove the stands from the old unit by removing the two mounting screws that secure the stand to the unit.

From the old unit of the Fiery ES, remove the DIMM(s) (see
) and HDD (see

Open the field replaceable unit.

Install the DIMM(s) (see

Install the HDD with bracket to the replaceable unit (see
Connect the SATA data and power cables from the motherboard to the corresponding connectors on the HDD.

Transfer the chassis cover from the old unit to replace it to the FRU (see

Reassemble the Fiery ES (see

Install the stands from the old unit to the replaceable unit using the two screws that you removed earlier.

Restore all the connection (see
“Fiery ES connector panel and LED diagnostic codes”
Now you can enter the service to transfer options and BIOS information.
Important:
Do
not
transfer options to the FRU prematurely. Do so only after you verify the FRU in Service Mode.
Remember that once options are transferred to the new FRU using the dongle, the FRU is customized and cannot be
used in another system.
