Installing Plug-ins

Plug-in activation/deactivation and execution order

The plug-ins can be renamed in order to

•

change the order in which they will be executed (Plug-ins are executed in ascending
order of their name)

•

activate or deactivate some plug-ins

To rename a plug-in in the registry editor, right-click to the name and select 'Rename' from
the displayed menu. Now you can change the name of the string value.

Be careful that when activated, it is recommended that the PCL Barcode translation plug-
in is the last one (because it increases the job size and so has impact on parsing perfor-
mances)

In one exceptional case, the input filter has to be the last one (even after PCL Barcode
translation plug-in). For more details about this refer to "Input Filter configuration" chapter.

Any change in the Plug-ins configuration is valid only after restart of the service named
"Print Manager Spool Interface".

4.3.1 Input Filter

The Input filter plug-in process will make possible the transfer of some parameters from
submitting applications (e.g. UNIX or SAP) to PRISMAspool job ticket fields. The matching
between submitting application parameters and PRISMAspool job ticket fields is defined by
Input Filters. The configuration of Input Filters is detailed in chapter 5.3.1.

For details about Input Filters usage, refer to Input Filter configuration chapter (5.3.1).

4.3.1.1 Installation and activation

After PRISMAspool installation, the input filter plug-in is defined and active in the IF_PRE
plug-ins configuration. This component will however have effects only if some input filters
have been configured.

The configuration of input filters is detailed in the Advanced Configuration paragraph
(5.3.1).

4.3.1.2 Uninstallation and deactivation

The input filter plug-in can be deactivated as any plug-in by renaming the corresponding
registry string value in the IF_PRE registry key (with name "101" for example).
