Printer States
The Status column indicates the current state of the printers. The state is merely a logical
value – it has nothing to do with the real operating status of the printer. A printer can have
the following states:
Page No. For PJL capable printers supporting bidirectional communication:
while a job is printing, this column specifies the number of the pages
that was most recently printed and sent to the printer's output stacker.
The format of this information is
<x> of <t> Copy <c> (<p>%) for Job-ID <id>
with <x> = number of pages sent to the output stacker
<t> = total number of pages to be printed
<c> = the number of the copy currently printed
<p> = the percentage of printed pages
<id> = the ID of the job currently printed (for printers supporting
"Multiple PJL jobs", this ID is not always the ID of the last job sent to
the printer).
Bytes sent When a printer is printing, this column specifies how many bytes have
been sent so far for the last job sent to the printer. Also included in the
bytes count are resources and header page data.
Port The name of the port which can be selected in the Windows spool and
which is assigned to this printer. The port-to-printer assignments are
made automatically by the spool system.
State Explanation
No printer found The system is unable to locate the device link for this printer. SCSI
printers can have this state when the print server is booted without
first powering on the printer and switching it online.
Not available The system is unable to open the device link for this printer. The de-
vice could be occupied by another application (e.g. the standard
spool) or offline ...
Deactive The printer is disabled for printing in the spool system. Jobs queued
for this printer will not print.
Deactivating The printer is currently active and printing, and termination of print
output has been requested with the Printer/Deactivate menu com-
mand. The current job will be completed and the printer will then go
to
Deactive state.
