Connect OCCO to WiFi or cellular network

Make sure to take a few test shots. Adjust the flash power and/or ISO settings to achieve good
illumination at three different distances: 1m, 2m and 3m

Test photo retrieval from the phone

If printing is involved – test printing

If you are setting up a kiosk for accessing media – make sure to connect that PC to the internet.
Of your Kiosk station is a Windows 10 PC – it can double as a print host (you can connect printer
to it and set it up as a print station, as described under
printing .

You may choose to monitor OCCO’s work and curate out bad or inappropriate images. Between
15-30% of photos in the event album typically need to be curated out. Either delete or hide
those photos from your event administrative console at

After activation

Disconnect Album from your robot, so that the next time you turn it on – it will not accidentally
upload unrelated photos to someone’s album. This is done from your event admin console:

Choosing location for OCCO
OCCO uses a Canon SL1/SL2 DSLRs and is capable of generating great quality images. However, even the
best equipment has optimal working environment. The location position for OCCO is backed against a
wall or a corner with its flash pointed back and upward towards a neutral-colored background. This
setup creates a diffuse light source called “bounced light”. It illuminates subjects evenly, while leaving
enough smooth shadows to preserve the perception of “depth” on photographs.
Never point the flash forward, towards people. Doing so will invariably result in harsh shadows,
occlusion of the flash by OCCO’s head, over-exposed close up images, and under-exposed images of
subjects farther away.
If natural environment does not allow bouncing the flash off of existing structures (e.g. no close by walls,
or walls are not neutral color) – you have a few options
1. Add a poster stand that has a large neutral bounce area. The poster can also serve as an
advertisement of OCCO, and a quick explanation of what OCCO does and how photos can be
accessed.
