mount. Before first use, make sure that all screws
are firmly tightened.
• Extreme loads may exert great stress on the fix-
ing screws. Therefore, please ensure that the
installation surface has sufficient capacity for
these loads. Consult a professional if you are
unsure.
• Safe and risk-free use of the awning can be guar-
anteed only if the awning is inspected and main-
tained on a regular basis. Inspect the awning reg-
ularly for signs of wear or damage to its covering
material or frame.
• In order to prevent damages, do not extend the
awning when there are strong winds.
• The mounting material is designed for installation
on concrete and reinforced walls (e.g brick or
limestone). Another suitable wall anchor must be
used if the unit is mounted on walls consisting of
other materials.
Qualification
• The installation instructions are designed for use
by a qualified technician who has thorough
knowledge of the following areas:
• Occupational safety, operational safety and acci-
dent prevention regulations
• Working with ladders and scaffolding
• Handling and transport of long, heavy compo-
nents
• Working with tools and machines
• Installation of fixing materials
• Evaluation of the building structure
• Initial start up and operation of the product
Electrical work:
• The fixed electrical installation must be carried
out in accordance with VDE 100 by an authorised
electrical specialist.
• The enclosed installation instructions for the sup-
plied electrical units must be observed.
Electricity supply:
• The awning may only be connected if the specifi-
cations on the awning identification plate and/or
the specifications in the enclosed installation
instructions match those of the power source.
• The enclosed installation instructions for the sup-
plied electrical components must be observed.
Battery:
• When inserting batteries, pay attention and
ensure that the poles are correct (plus/+ and
minus/-).
• Leaking or damaged batteries may cause acid
burns on contact with skin. If you have leaking or
damaged batteries, use a suitable protective
glove to dispose of them.
• Make sure that batteries are not short-circuited,
disassembled or thrown into fire. There is a risk
of explosion!
• Do not leave batteries out, there is a risk that
these may be swallowed by children or pets. In
the event of swallowing, consult a doctor immedi-
ately.
Manual operation (in the event of power fail-
ure):
• In the event of a power failure, the awning can be
operated using a hand crank.
• The operating element for the hand crank must
be accessible at a height of less than 1.8 metres.
• Be careful when extending the awning as, in the
event of weak or defective springs, it may fall
quickly.
Lifting with ropes:
If the awning must be raised to a higher area with the
help of ropes, then the awning
• should be removed from the packaging,
• and connected with the ropes in such a way that
the ropes cannot slip
• and should be lifted whilst maintaining a horizon-
tal position.
Wall mount:
Check the following before commencing assembly,
• whether the wall mounts supplied match the
scope of delivery in type and number,
• and if the specifications about the installation sur-
face made at the time of ordering the product
actually match the existing installation surface.
If any deviations are identified here which may affect
the safety, then the product should not be installed.
Fixing materials:
Use only suitable fixtures for installing the product.
The type and dimensions of the fixtures depends on
the type of masonry and the weight of the product.
Please ask a specialist to assist in selecting the cor-
rect items.
Climbing aids:
Aids should not be leaned against the awning or
secured to it. They must be positioned firmly and offer
sufficient support. Use only climbing aids that have
sufficiently high load-bearing capacity.
