Installation instruction for connection kits nVent RAYCHEM C25-100-
METAL and C3/4-100-METAL. For use with all RAYCHEM BTV-, QTVR-,
XTV-, KTV-, VPL- and FHP-heating cables.
Before installing this product, read the installation instructions
completely.
Schedule of Limitations:
The service temperature of the C25-100-METAL / C3/4-100-METAL
connection kit is –50°C to +180°C. When the C25-100-METAL /
C3/4-100-METAL connection kit is used, it shall be mounted to an
enclosure in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
The installer is to carry out a dielectric strength test on the Ex equipment
in which the C25-100-METAL / C3/4-100-METAL connection kit is
fitted. No dielectric breakdown shall occur. (Alternatively an insulation
resistance test may be undertaken in accordance with EN 60079-30-2).
The integral C1 core sealer shall be installed inside an Ex equipment
certified enclosure.
CAUTION: Prolonged or repeated contact with the sealant in the core
sealer may cause skin irritation. Wash hands thoroughly. Overheating or
burning the sealant will produce fumes that may cause polymer fume
fever. Avoid contamination of cigarettes or tobacco. Consult MSDS
VEN 0058 for further information.
WARNING: To prevent electrical shock, short circuit or arcing, this
product must be installed correctly and water ingress must be avoided
before and during the installation.
