Remove old end cap by cutting through cable with a 

hacksaw as close as possible to the back of the end cap 

(Figure 55).

: Do not remove more than 3% of length of 

heated section. If more than 3% must be removed 

to facilitate the repair or modification, a new XMI-l 

cable tag must be ordered (see Section 2.3). 

 Note: Ensure that the portion of the cable being

least 4 in (10 cm) to allow access when brazing.
