64K Data Communication
Communications charges apply according to the
connection time regardless of the data size. Use
FOMA-64K-data-communication-compatible access
points such as DoCoMo’s Internet connection service
“mopera U” to send/receive data at 64 kbps max.
• DoCoMo’s Internet connection service “mopera” is
also available.
Notes on Use
Internet Service Provider (ISP)
Charges
To use the Internet, Internet Service Provider (ISP)
charges may apply. Pay the charges to the ISP
separately from FOMA service charges. For details
on the charges, contact the ISP.
DoCoMo’s Internet connection services “mopera U”/
“mopera” are available. “mopera U” requires a
subscription and is a fee-based service. “mopera”
does not require a subscription or monthly fee.
Access Point (ISP, etc.) Settings
Access points differ between packet communication
and 64K data communication. Use FOMA-packet-
communication-compatible access points for packet
communications, and FOMA-64K-data-
communication-compatible or ISDN-synchronous-
64K-compatible access points for 64K data
communications.
• DoPa access points are not available.
User Authentication for Network
Access
ID and Password may be required for user
authentication depending on the access point. Enter
ID and Password with communication software (dial-
up network). ISP or network administrator provides
you with ID and Password. For details, contact the
provider or administrator.
Access Authentication for Browser
Use
FirstPass (user certificate

) is required for access
authentication when using FirstPass-compatible sites.
Install and set up “FirstPass PC Software” from the
bundled CD-ROM. For details, see “FirstPassManual”
(PDF) under the “FirstPassPCSoft” folder in the
CD-ROM. To view “FirstPassManual”, Adobe
®
Reader
®
(version 6.0 or later recommended) is
required. You can download the latest version from
the website of Adobe Systems Incorporated.

*: This FOMA terminal cannot directly obtain User certificate
required for FirstPass. Insert your FOMA card (UIM) to
another FirstPass-compatible FOMA terminal, request
issuance of User certificate and download, then insert the
FOMA card (UIM) to this FOMA terminal. For details on
how to obtain User certificate, see Instruction Manual of
the FOMA terminal to be used.
Packet Communication/64K Data
Communication Conditions
The following conditions apply for FOMA
communications. Even if the conditions are met,
communications may not be possible due to base
station congestion or low signal quality.
• In the FOMA service area
• Access point compatible with FOMA packet
communication in case of packet communication
• Access point compatible with FOMA 64K data
communication or ISDN synchronous 64K in case
of 64K data communication
