FOMA Card (UIM)
FOMA card is an IC card containing your information
such as phone number. Data communication,
videophone, etc. are not available without a FOMA
card.
For details on FOMA card usage, see the FOMA card
Instruction Manual.
Attaching/Removing a FOMA Card
● Attaching

Face the FOMA terminal, and pull out
the FOMA card tray in the direction of
the arrow
2 Turn the FOMA terminal over, remove
the tray, place the FOMA card on the
tray, and insert the tray as shown in the
following figure
3 Firmly push the tray in

● Removing
1 Pull out the FOMA card tray (See Step
1 in Attaching)
2 Push out the FOMA card (UIM) through
the tray hole to remove it
FOMA Card (UIM) Security Code
2 security codes, PIN1 code and PIN2 code, are set
to “0000” at the time of contract.
PIN1 code is a 4-to-8-digit security code to be
entered at each power-on to authenticate the user
and prevent unauthorized use.
PIN2 code is a 4-to-8-digit security code to be
entered when using user certificate, requesting
issuance (using FirstPass), etc.
■ PIN1 Code Change
The code can be changed. To prevent unauthorized
use, change the code to your liking.
Entering incorrect PIN1 3 times in a row automatically
activates PIN lock. Keep a separate record of the
code.

Place the FOMA card (UIM)
on the tray with the cut corner
oriented at the same direction.
Insert the tray holding the FOMA card
(UIM) in the direction as shown above.

Follow the procedures to attach/remove properly.
Excessive force may damage the FOMA card (UIM).

Do not touch/scratch the IC segment of the FOMA
card (UIM).
z
Do not lose the removed FOMA card (UIM) and FOMA
card tray.
If your FOMA card is set to verify PIN1 code, data
communication is not available without verification.
Activate FOMA N2502 HIGH-SPEED Utility to
verify PIN1 code, or change the setting to skip
verification (“Manual for FOMA N2502 HIGH-
SPEED”, p.42).
