4 Installing Modem Software
Lancer 3W modem software will install two programs:
•
Wireless Modem Manager to check the status of the Lancer 3W modem.
•
Wireless Configuration Wizard to configure modem settings.
Note
: Before installing the Wireless Modem Manager, contact your CDPD service
provider and obtain an IP address. They will ask for the EID# which is labeled
on the modem.
4.1
Install Wireless Modem Manager Software
To install the Modem Manager software use the following procedure.
1.
Insert
CD into CD drive.
If the CD runs automatically, go to Step 2
If the CD doesn’t run automatically, do the following:
Click
on the Windows Start button
Click
Run
Type
d:\autorun.exe

Select
CDPD Modem, then select Lancer.
If using a Windows (95/98/NT/2000) computer select Windows
.
If using a different operating system, contact our customer service department.
3.
Follow
the instructions to install the software.
If you exit the setup for any reason you may continue by using the Wireless Modem
Setup icon on your desktop. Refer to section 4.3.1 Icon Display With Windows
95/98/NT/2000 on page 4-3 and section 4.3.2 Icon Display With Windows CE on page
4-3 for details.

If you have already configured the modem settings, skip Section 4.2 and go to
section 4.3
