Controls and settings

The controls and settings for Nortel IP Phone Key Expansion Module
(KEM) and Nortel IP Phone Graphical Expansion Module (GEM) have the
ability to adjust the display contrast and change the labels of the feature
keys.

Controls and settings for KEM

When a Nortel IP Phone Key Expansion Module (KEM) is installed on an
IP Phone, the controls and settings of the IP Phone control both the IP
Phone and the KEM. Use the IP Phone menu options to adjust the display
contrast and change the labels of the feature keys.

For more information about controls and settings, see the IP Phone User
Guides.

Controls and settings for GEM

When a Nortel IP Phone Graphical Expansion Module (GEM) is attached
to an IP Phone, the ability to control the display contrast of the GEM
through the terminal’s local menu is available. This ability is not available
on the display menu provided by the CICM.

To adjust the display contrast, the user must perform the following:

•

Press the Services key twice

•

Select 1 Preferences

•

Select 1 Display Settings

•

Adjust the contrast using the left and right navigational arrows

•

Click Apply to save the settings

Note:

Adjusting the display contrast on the GEM will also adjust the

display contrast on the Nortel IP Phone 1100 Series terminals.
