Graphical Expansion Module (GEM)

IP Phone 1120E with GEM

The IP Phone 1120E has four feature keys available on the main terminal.
Historically, access for 10 of the 14 feature keys provisioned on the M5216
line was available by using the Up and Down navigational buttons to scroll
through three pages of features.

When GEM is attached to the 1120E and advanced GEM functionality
turned on, only one page of features is provided on the main terminal with
feature keys 1 to 4. The remaining features are not available on the main
terminal, they are moved onto the GEM. GEM functionality allows a total
of 36 buttons over two pages, of which four buttons on the second page
are not utilized.

The GEM displays the feature keys 5 to 14, as well as the M522 extension
module feature keys 1 to 22, see

. To access all the feature keys on the GEM, the

user must use the Up and Down navigational buttons to scroll through the
pages.

When advanced GEM functionality is disabled on the IP
Phone 1120E, the main terminal displays feature keys 1
to 10 across three pages. Due to the number of pages
restriction an IP Phone can display, feature keys 11 to
14 are not displayed on the 1120E and not available on
