User Guide Supplement

Before you configure a local printer

Before you add, change, or delete a local printer, you should do
the following:

•

Ensure that the printer is connected properly.

You can connect the local printer to the PC through any one
of the standard parallel printer ports (LPT1, LPT2, or
LPT3), or through a serial port (COM1 or COM2). The
type of connection depends on the printer interface.

•

Ensure that the printer is configured as a NAC 2.5 printer.

For more information, refer to the Network Administration
Center (NAC) Installation Guide (NTP 553-4011-110),
“Peripheral devices” chapter.

•

Ensure that MTE is configured correctly.

For more information, refer to the MTE User Guide
(P0881398).
