WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEM

BRAKE ADJUSTMENT

See Figure 7. Adjust the (E)

(E)

(E) brake rod’s length to eliminate any foot pedal free play (space between the pedal and rod end) when

the pedal is at rest (not being engaged).

The rod length can be changed by loosening the jam nut (S)

(S)

(S) and threading the adjustment screw (T)

(T)

(T) In or Out.

To access the brake rod remove the front pedal mounting hardware items (B

(B & C)

C), then swing (pivot) the pedal backwards out

of the way.

Use a 3/8" wrench and 1/8" hex key wrench to both loosen and tighten the rods adjustable hardware.

Note: Also check the brake bands brake lining for wear when excessive pedal travel can not be eliminated through adjustments.
Service by replacing worn brake band and readjust and test for proper brake operation.
