(1)
Aperture diaphragm adjustment with the pupil of the objective
Remove one of the eyepieces and look into the sleeve.
You can see the pupil of the objective (that is a bright area
when the aperture diaphragm is fully opened.) Stop down
the condenser aperture diaphragm so that the diaphragm
aperture is adjusted to about 70% to 80% of the pupil of
the objective.

(2)
Aperture diaphragm adjustment with an optional centering telescope
Observe an enlarged view of the pupil of the objective with an optional centering telescope and adjust the
aperture diaphragm of the LWD condenser.
1
Remove one of the eyepieces. And then, attach an optional centering telescope with an
optional adapter in place.
2
Fully stop down the aperture diaphragm with the condenser aperture diaphragm lever.
3
Turn the eyepiece section of the centering telescope with holding the flange of the centering
telescope to focus on the aperture diaphragm image.
4
Turn the diaphragm control lever to adjust the aperture diaphragm. (This is normally adjusted
to 70-80% of the pupil of the objective.)
5
Remove the centering telescope with the adapter and attach the eyepiece to its original
position.

Attaching an Optical Element into the LWD Condenser Turret
You can perform the bright-field microscopy under the diascopic illumination (with 4x objective to 100x
objective), the differential interference contrast microscopy under the diascopic illumination (with
visible lights or with infra-red lights), and the microscopy under the diagonal illumination when you use
the LWD condenser. And you can attach an optical element into the condenser turret of the LWD
condenser for each microscopy.
1
Remove the two button bolts on the condenser turret
of the LWD condenser and remove the cover.
2
Attach a desired optical element in place and fix it.
3
Put the cover back to its original position. Fix the
cover with the button bolts.
