Using Macro Mode
When using macro mode, the camera can focus on subjects as close as 1 cm
(0.4 in.) from the front of the lens.
This feature is useful when taking close-up pictures of flowers and other small
subjects.

Use the zoom control to set the zoom ratio to

depends on the zoom ratio.
At the zoom position where

and the zoom indicator light in green, the camera can
focus on subjects as close as about 10 cm (4 in.) or farther from the lens. At the wide-
angle zoom position from

, it can focus on subjects as close as about 1 cm (0.4 in.)
or farther from the lens.

Note on Using the Flash
The flash may be unable to light the entire subject at distances of less than 50 cm (1 ft 8 in.).

Autofocus
In shooting modes such as scene modes that cannot use the
Autofocus mode

may be turned on and the camera will adjust focus even if the shutter-release button is not
pressed halfway when macro mode is set. You may hear the sound of the camera focusing.

The changed macro mode setting applied in
