Extending
1.
Grasp the loop on the pull strap and pull down to extend the awning. Then hook the loop onto the window
strap hanger.
Retracting
1.
Remove loop on the pull strap from the window strap hanger.
CAUTION
Do not release the strap as the window awning is under tension and may snap back against the vehicle.
2.
Slowly allow the awning to roll back to the closed position by feeding the pull strap upwards and diagonally.
This prevents the strap from building up and creating a bulge in the fabric.
3.
The window awning is now ready for travel with no further locking required.
GARAGE AREA
On Canyon Star models with the “Toy Hauler” rear garage, the garage area of your unit is designed to provide
you with convenient storage and access to the cargo you want to carry. It incorporates a number of safety and
convenience features, such as rubberized flooring material for better traction and ease of cleaning, ties downs to
secure your cargo for transit, and handy storage and work areas.
IMPORTANT
There are a variety of informational and safety labels located in and around the garage area of your Canyon Star. IT IS
CRITICAL THAT ALL OF THESE LABELS BE READ AND UNDERSTOOD PRIOR TO USING THE UNIT. Please take
the time to make sure you and all who will use this unit are familiar with its unique systems and their safe operation
before using your Canyon Star.
Rear Cargo / Ramp Door
The Rear Cargo / Ramp Door is designed to allow easy access for loading and unloading of cargo into the garage
area of your Canyon Star. The door features a hydraulic dampening system that allows one person to raise or
lower the ramp door.
To open the door, locate the handle inside the horizontal trim on the
rear door. The handle is located in an opening in bottom of the trim
approximately mid-door. It incorporates a key lock so you can secure
your cargo by locking the release handle in place, preventing access to
the garage area. Be sure the lock is unlocked before attempting to open
the rear cargo door.
On top of the handle is a release trigger. Wrap your hand around the pull handle, and squeeze the release trigger
with your finger.
With the trigger pulled, the handle will swing down, releasing the latching mechanism for the rear cargo door
(pressing on the door may release some pressure on the latching mechanism to allow the handle to swing down
more easily).
