•
Updated the "What the disk shelf LEDs mean for DS4243, DS2246, and
DS4246 disk shelves" section to add a note that because of a bug, in some
versions of Data ONTAP, when a disk drive fails due to excessive link errors,
adapter errors, or timeouts, the fault LED does not illuminate.
•
Updated the "Hot-swapping or replacing an IOM" procedure to include the
requirement that your system must be running Data ONTAP 8.1.4 or later,
Data ONTAP 8.2.1 or later, or Data ONTAP 8.3 or later to hot-swap an IOM.
•
Updated the "Changing the disk shelf ID" procedure note in Step 8 to state
that if you decide to change the shelf ID after your storage system is running
Data ONTAP, you must wait at least 70 seconds (instead of 30 seconds)
before turning the power back on to complete the power cycle.
•
Modified the "Installing SAS disk shelves in a new HA pair or single-
controller configuration" procedure to remove shelf power on and checking
shelf ID steps, which are now part of the "Cabling disk shelves in a new HA
pair or single-controller configuration" procedure in the
SAS and ACP
Cabling Guide for DS4243, DS2246, DS4486, and DS4246 Disk Shelves.
The "Installing SAS disk shelves in a new HA pair or single-controller
configuration" procedure was modified to coincide with the steps in the
platform "Installation and Setup Instructions" that ship with new platforms.
You are instructed to power on disk shelves and check IDs after cabling SAS
and ACP connections rather than before.
