9.6 Milk frother tests (Gran Maestria)
Prerequisite
Use newly opened UHT, full fat or semi-skimmed milk at fridge temperature
(+ 6 °C ± 2 °C (43 °F ± 3° F) for the following tests only.
9.6.1 Basic tests
Perform the following tests to ensure the proper functioning of the milk frother:
9.6.2 Measure hot milk temperature
• Prepare 240 ml hot milk in milk frother (dial setting: pos. 4 - warm milk preparation
only).
• Measure temperature immediately after preparation in jug.
The milk temperature should be b 64 °C ± 4 °C (147 °F ± 7 °F).
The disregard of this
specification can
affect the measuring
results.
Milk frother dial Functions to be checked
Pos. 1 Cold function: Check if liquid in milk frother stays cold
Pos. 2 / 3 / 4 Hot functions: Check if liquid in milk frother heats up
Pos. 1 / 2 / 3
Foam functions: Check if foam of appropriate quality is created.
Pos. 1 and 2: velvetly foam quality
Pos. 3: dense foam quality
Spattered milk may
cause burns. Only
use milk frother
with lid.
