3.7 Install Optional Fan
When an add-on card with higher power consumption (e.g. PCIe graphics card) installed in
Nuvo-6000, you shall install a fan for heat dissipation. Neousys offers a fan option, as a
general solution for versatile add-on cards, to create active air flow and maintain proper
temperature. The speed of fan is controlled automatically according to the temperature
inside the chassis. Users can set two trip points in BIOS setup menu. At the trip point 1 (Fan
Start Trip Point), fan start to rotate at 20% speed. The fan speed increases gradually to
100% at trip point 2 (Fan Max. Trip Point). By this mean you can have a quieter fan
operation and longer life for fan. Please refer to section 4.1.4 for information regarding
configuring trip points for optional fan.
To install the optional fan, please follow the steps listed below.
1. Follow instructions described in section 3.1.1 to remove the chassis cover.
2. Remove pre-cutting plates for fan apertures on the back of chassis.
