Turn on power to the system and the device.

Serial Mouse Use
In addition to the standard PS/2-style mouse, your system
also supports a serial mouse. To use a serial mouse, you
must make a few software adjustments to allow your system
to recognize the serial mouse.
NOTE
See the preceding section, “Serial Devices,”
for instructions about attaching a serial mouse.
Prepare your system for serial mouse installation as
follows:
1.
Turn off system power and attach the serial mouse to the
external COM port on the back of the system.
2.
Power on your system and boot into Windows.
3.
Go to one of the next sections and follow the instructions
that are appropriate for your system (either Windows 95
or Windows for Workgroups).
Windows 95 Systems
Follow these instructions to add a serial mouse to your
Windows 95 system.
1.
From the Windows 95 Start menu, select Settings and
then Control Panel.
