4-32 Using Your NEC Versa

Align and connect the other end of the cable to the parallel
port on the device. Lock the connector clips.

Connect the power cable to the device and a properly
grounded wall outlet.

Turn on power to the system and the device.

NOTE

Check that the device is online before you try

to use it. See the instructions that came with the
device for more information.

Serial Devices

To install a serial device such as a printer or an external
modem, you need a cable with a female 9-pin connector. If
installing a serial mouse, see the information under “Serial
Mouse Use” following the device connection instructions.
