Exit Menu
Use the Exit menu to save or discard changes in the BIOS settings, or to exit the
BIOS Setup utility.
Note:
Pressing Esc does not exit this menu. You must
select one of the items from the menu or menu bar to exit.
Exit Menu
Choices Description
Exit Saving Changes Exits after writing all modified Setup item values to
CMOS.
Exit Discarding Changes Exits leaving CMOS unmodified.
Load Setup Defaults Loads default values for all Setup items.
Load Custom Defaults Loads settings from custom defaults.
Save Custom Defaults Saves present Setup values to custom defaults.
Discard Changes Reads the previous value of all Setup items from
CMOS.
Save Changes Writes all Setup item values to CMOS.
FLASH Utility
The system BIOS resides on a flash read only memory (ROM) chip in your
system. The flash ROM can be updated with a very simple procedure.
Two diskettes are used when updating the Flash ROM. The first diskette updates
the BMC and HSC firmware. The second diskette contains the latest version of
the BIOS code. You can get the diskettes from NEC CSD or download the BMC
and HSC firmware and the BIOS from the NEC CSD website or Bulletin Board
System (BBS). See Chapter 6 for download information.
Update the BIOS from the diskettes using the instructions that come with the
diskettes, or from information on the BBS.

Symbios Configuration Utility
The Symbios Configuration Utility detects the two SCSI host adapters located
on the system board. Use the utility to:

change adapter and SCSI device default values
„
check and/or change SCSI device settings that may conflict with those of
other devices in the server
„
perform low-level formatting or verify operations on SCSI drives.
