ESX Server Setup 4-27
NEC ESMPRO Agent
IMPORTANT:
Be sure to read the "5-4 Preparation before Setup" before system installation
or setup.
1.
Login to the service console as a root user.
2.
Set the CD-ROM in the optical disk drive to mount.
3.
Move to the directory where the server management driver is stored and run the rpm
command to install.
# cd /(mount point)/smm_drv/vmware_3.0.2/320Fd/
# rpm
–
ivh *.rpm
4.
Move to the directory where the package of the NEC ESMPRO Agent is stored and run the
rpm command to install.
# cd /(mount point)/esmpro_sa/4361-01/
# rpm -ivh Esmpro-common-*
# rpm -ivh Esmpro-type1-*
# rpm -ivh Esmpro-ft-*
# rpm -ivh Esmpro-Express-*
5.
Move the current directory to /opt/nec/esmpro_sa/log to run the following commands.
# cd /opt/nec/esmpro_sa/log/
# sh /(mount point)/esmpro_sa/vmset.sh -l NONE
# sh /(mount point)/esmpro_sa/esmcron.sh
6.
Eject the CD-ROM from the DVD-ROM drive to reboot the OS.
# sync
# reboot
Functions of the installed NEC ESMPRO Agent become enabled after the reboot.
TIPS:
To report to NEC ESMPRO Manager from NEC ESMPRO Agent, you need to
configure the settings on reporting method in
“
Report Setting Function
”
after the
reboot. Refer to the User
’
s Guide (/doc/esmsa_users.pdf) stored in the CD-ROM
for how to configure the reporting method.
