About This Manual
This manual contains instructions for installing and configuring the National Instruments
VXIpc-486 Model 500 Series embedded computer. The Model 500 Series consists of the
VXIpc-486 Models 500, 566, and 599 computers.
Organization of This Manual
This manual is organized as follows:

Chapter 1, Introduction, describes the VXIpc-486 Model 500 Series embedded computer,
lists what you need to get started, and lists optional equipment and software.

Chapter 2, VXIpc-486 Configuration and Installation, describes how to configure and install
the VXIpc-486 Model 500 Series embedded computer.

Chapter 3, BIOS Setup, describes how to set up the basic input/output system (BIOS) for the
VXIpc-486 Model 500 Series computer.

Appendix A, National Instruments Software, summarizes the National Instruments software
products you can use with your VXIpc-486 Model 500 Series computer.
