Specific Board Characteristics of IBCONF for the
GPIB-PCIIB
In addition to the board and device characteristics of
IBCONF
listed in
Section Two of the NI-488 MS-DOS Software Reference Manual, the
GPIB-PCIIB handler has the following option.
Disable Device Unaddressing (Board Characteristic Only)
Normally, devices are unaddressed upon completion of a device function by
sending the Untalk (UNT) and Unlisten (UNL) interface commands. A yes
response to this field eliminates this unaddressing on device functions. The
default option for this characteristic is no.
Running IBCONF
When you ran
IBSTART
, a copy of
IBCONF.EXE
was placed on your
startup drive.
To run
IBCONF
, go to the root directory of the startup drive and enter the
following command:
ibconf
IBCONF
scans the handler file,
GPIB.COM
, and reads its data structures
into memory. After you press any key, the program then displays the
device map for board
GPIB0
.
Modify only the copy of
GPIB.COM
created by
IBSTART
in your root
directory—that is, always run
IBCONF
from your root directory. Never
modify the master copy by running
IBCONF
from the distribution diskette
with the distribution diskette not write-protected.
