8.0 TROUBLE SHOOTING

Before you attempt any mechanical repair, please make sure that power to the furnace is disconnected.

Problem:

No power on control panel.

Solution:

Breaker may be turned off. Turn it on.

Fuse may be out. Change the fuse.

Problem:

Hot air blower fan does not work

Solution:

Check for power connection.

Check control panel. It may be on idle (sleep) mode

Problem:

Combustion fan does not work

Solution:

Check for power connection.

Problem:

No fuel coming to fi re pot

Solution:

Check if there is fuel in the hopper.

If there is fuel, check fuel drop chute when cooled. It may be clogged. Unclog the blockage by

cleaning the burned fuel residue in the channel.

Problem:

Auger squeaks

Solution:

There may be foreign and/or large object lodged in the auger tube. Empty the hopper. Try to

remove the foreign object. It may be in the section you can’t see. Reverse the auger shaft by

hand to free object.  This requires serviceman to be called.

Problem:

 Insuffi cient combustion (unburned fuel)

Solution:

Air holes on the fi re pot may be clogged. Shut down the furnace. Wait until it cools. Remove

the fi re pot and clean the air holes.

Problem:

 Smoking

Solution:

Check exhaust pipes and chimney for proper draft.

Check moisture of fuel.

  During

fi rst fi re, it is normal to have some excess smoke. But, if it is too much, excessive

feeding combined with insuffi cient fi re may have occurred. Wait until all the smoke clears and

the fi re pot cools a little, so it is accessible by gloved hands and tools. Re-arrange the fi re pot
  for

fi rst fi re and re-start.
