3.   Put about 3-4 cups of pellet at the bottom of fi re pot manually. It is always easier to start the fi re with pellet.
4.   Add some fi re gel to the pellets and mix it. You may also use solid type fi re starters.
5.   Make sure that control panel is at off position.
6.   Use a match to start the fi re. You may keep the door open for a while, just to observe fi re going.
7.   Let the fi re continue by itself for a minute or two.
8.   Select corn as your fuel on the control panel when off.
9.   Turn on the control panel by pushing the on button for few seconds.
10.  Press the fi rst fi re button. Furnace will count down 500 seconds on this mode. Combustion air fan is
on to facilitate the fi rst fi re start-up. There will also be automatic corn feeding of 2 seconds at 200th
       second.

OCCURRENCE OF EXCESSIVE SMOKE DURING THE FIRST FIRE MODE IS NORMAL. THIS IS A TEM-

PORARY CONDITION AND IT WILL BE OVER IN A FEW MINUTES. PLEASE DO NOT PANIC.

11.  Furnace will automatically go into low mode at the end of 500 seconds, if no other mode selection is
       made.
12.  You may close the door anytime now when you feel fi re is strong and will keep going.
13.  You may also choose to run your furnace at high mode depending on your heating requirements and
comfort level. You do not have to wait till end of fi rst fi re mode to select your furnace run mode.
14.  It will take about 15-20 minutes for the fi re to stabilize and reach temperature. We do not recommend
stirring the content of fi re pot after the fi rst fi re.
15.  Now, just sit back and enjoy the heat.
16.  If room thermostat is connected you don’t have to choose any mode. Room thermostat will take over the
       control of furnace.

6.7  FIRST FIRE (START UP) - WOOD PELLET BURNING

Assuming you have completed the installation of the furnace, connection of hot air outlet & return air to duct
system, you can now put your furnace into operation.

Please follow the instructions below, step by step.

1.   Fill the hopper with wood pellets. (Will take about 400 lbs –-- 10 x 40 lbs bags))
2.   Please keep in mind that auger is empty on the very fi rst operation. Use the manual fuel feed button on the
back of the control box to fi ll the auger fast.
3.   Put about 3-4 cups of pellet at the bottom of fi re pot.
4.   The rest of the operation is same as “corn burning” starting with #4.

Use of mix fuel:
Corn & pellet mix use is permissible. Mixing corn with pellet will improve combustion of corn.  Fuel selection on
the control panel may remain at “corn” when higher percentage of fuel is corn.

6.8  OPERATION BY ROOM THERMOSTAT

Room thermostat takes over control of furnace when connected. Room thermostat will run the furnace at the
mode needed, depending on your room temperature settings. (Please note that mode display on the control
panel has no meaning when running by thermostat).

I M P O R T A N T   N O T E

Depending on the preference for your location, room thermostats may be two different types.
1.   Open contact type,
2.   Close contact type.
When control panel is turned on, display will indicate the current setting for “room thermostat” on your furnace.
Factory setting is for open contact type. Please see your installation manual regarding how to change the set-
ting.
