Proxy
While the packet filter filters the data traffic on a network level, the use of a
Proxy
(also called an Application
Gateway)
increases the security of the RouteFinder on the application level, as there is no direct connection
between client and server.
Proxy > HTTP Proxy
The HTTP Proxy is a module built into the RouteFinder to redirect HTTP requests from the clients in the LAN
to the Internet.
HTTP Status
To enable HTTP, check the
Status
box and click
Save
. When you click
Edit
, the HTTP Allowed Networks
part of the screen displays.

Available Networks/Hosts
This defines the allowed network/host for access to the HTTP. To select the networks you want to be
available for the HTTP proxy, highlight the network name and click the
Add
button.
