7.3.5 Spark plug connector ‒ Removal
Preconditions

Engine is stopped and starting disabled.
☑
Open protective packing of new spark plug connector only immediately prior to installation.
DANGER
Live components, flash-over.
Risk of serious injury - danger to life!
• Always wear electrical gloves (class 4 minimum) when touching the ignition cable in operation.
WARNING
Hot components/surfaces.
Risk of burns!
• Allow the engine to cool down to below 50 °C before beginning work.
• Wear suitable protective equipment/thermal gloves.
• Avoid unprotected contact with hot surfaces.
WARNING
Compressed air gun ejects a jet of pressurized air.
Risk of injury to eyes and damage to hearing, risk of rupturing internal organs!
• Never direct air jet at people.
• Always wear safety goggles/face mask and ear defenders.
Spark plug connector ‒ Removal
1.
Pull protective cap (2) up and back to make
the ignition line union underneath accessible.
2.
Release the ignition line union from ignition
coil (1) and disconnect ignition cable (3).
3.
Remove screw (4) and tab washer (6) from
cylinder head cover.
4.
Remove spark plug connector (5) with igni-
tion cable (3) from spark plug.
5.
Remove sealing ring from Teflon sleeve of ig-
nition line.
