3.4 Functional Test and Scaling External Control Systems
For electrical checks of the 4 - and 20 mA-signals or scaling external Control Systems, put the red test
plug into the jack on top of the instrument. Thus, the test signal is passed on to the current loop with
4 mA representing a zero concentration and 20 mA representing a full scale concentration.
The selected operating mode is monitor and the green LED is lit.
3.4.1 4 mA Simulation (Zero)
- Press and hold button "4 mA/Zero"
- The current in the 4 ... 20 mA loop is 4 mA
- Zero is indicated at the FMK 9002 and FMS 8700/8710's displays
- Alarm is not activated at the FMS 8700 or FMS 8710,
except with instruments for oxygen deficiency
3.4.2 20 mA Simulation (full scale)
- Press and hold button "20 mA / CE Value"
- The current in the 4...20 mA loop is 20 mA
- The green LED will be lit intensively
- Full scale is indicated at the FMK 9002 and the display of the FMS 8700 or FMS 8710
- Both alarms are activated and indicated by the according LEDs at the alarm module, except
with instruments for oxygen deficiency
Note :
After terminating the functional test, the test plug should be removed in order to prevent eventual alarm
releases by unauthorized personnel. The test plug must be saved for regular checks.
