USER MANUAL OPTIMA 7 - NDIR

15.1 Lambda (Brettschneider formula)

The emission analyser OPTIMA7-NDIR is a multi-component analyser,

which measures contin-

uously:

CO (carbon monoxide) [%] O

(oxygen) [%]

(carbon dioxide) [%] NO (nitrogen monoxide) [ppm]

HC (hydrocarbons) [ppm]

Simplified Excess Air calculation according to Brettschneider :

15.2 P.E.F. factor

The P.E.F factor Propane-Hexane is the conversion factor and is used because the OPTIMA7-
NDIR is calibrated with propane (C

), but it has to display n-Hexane.

n-Hexane = P.E.F. * propane

This factor is determined for this in the factory and used in the calculation, display and printout.
This determines value is displayed in the service-menu and after the adjustment.
