Configuring Email Warning
The Auto Email Warning function uses e-mail to alert the user when certain user-configured
events take place.
Three basic steps are required to set up the Auto Warning function:
1.
Configuring Email Event Types
Select the desired
Event types
from the Console or Web Browser Event type page (a
description of each event type is given later in the
Email Alarm Events setting
subsection).
2.
Configuring Email Settings
To configure the EDS-510A’s email setup from the Console interface or browser interface,
enter your Mail Server IP/Name (IP address or name), Account Name, Account Password,
Retype New Password, and the email address to which warning messages will be sent.
3.
Activate your settings and if necessary, test the email
After configuring and activating your EDS-510A’s Event Types and Email Setup, you can use
the
Test Email
function to see if your e-mail addresses and mail server address have been
properly configured.
Event Type
Event Types can be divided into two basic groups:
System Events
and
Port Events
. System
Events are related to the overall function of the switch, whereas Port Events are related to the
activity of a specific port.
