Emergency Alarms

The MCD 5000 Deskset is capable of handling inbound and outbound Emergency Alarms.

Outbound Emergency Alarms

The MCD 5000 Deskset is equipped with an

Emergency Button

(see

Figure 3-18

) that allows a

MCD 5000 Deskset user to send an Emergency Alarm. The Emergency Alarm is send to all
parallel MCD 5000 Desksets connected to the same radio and is set until one of the MCD 5000
Deskset users acknowledges the alarm.

MCD 5000 Deskset - Emergency Button

The Emergency Alarm causes parallel MCD 5000 Desksets attached to the same radio to display
an alarm notification and beep.

The Emergency Alarm state remains until the alarm is acknowledge by one of the parallel MCD
5000 Deskset users. Clearing the Emergency Alarm set all MCD 5000 Desksets back to normal
operation.

Generate an Outbound Emergency Alarm

Press the

Emergency Button

located on the right hand side of the MCD 5000

Deskset.

Result:

An Emergency Alarm icon

is displayed on the status bar of the MCD

5000 Deskset. The inbound emergency alarm message (see

Figure 3-19

) is

displayed and an alarm sound is emitted from all MCD 5000 Desksets connected
to the same radio.
