Scanning Barcodes

Angle

The angle of the bar code in relation to the imager is a factor in reading performance. The device is
designed to read typical bar code over a range of side angles from about -40° to +40°.

Note: When adjusting your position, you may rotate the wrist left or wright and pitch by dropping or
lifting the wrist. Move back or forth from the target to capture the entire object. A successful scan is
indicated by sound.

Bar code types

Table 4 lists typical bar code types. The table specifies the bar code size and its effective Depth-of-
Focus.
