Troubleshoot an ActiveSync cable connection

Troubleshoot as described here if you are using a USB cable to connect your HC700-G to the PC, and 
ActiveSync does not recognize the HC700-G or the program stops responding (or hangs) while 
connecting to ActiveSync. Troubleshooting is often a matter of systematically testing the possible 
solutions, usually beginning with the simplest for speed and convenience and then moving on to more 
complex solution tasks. Try the following steps in order, one at a time, until one works for you. For 
more detailed information, go to the troubleshooting page on the Windows Mobile Web site (

1.

Disconnect and then reconnect the HC700-G.

2.

Disconnect the HC700-G, restart the HC700-G, and then reconnect the HC700-G.

3.

Disconnect the HC700-G, restart the PC, and then reconnect the HC700-G.

4.

Do the following:

Disconnect the HC700-G.

•

Disable the PC firewall.

•

Reconnect the HC700-G.

5.

Do the following: 

•

Disconnect the HC700-G.

•

Disable the antivirus program.

•

Reconnect the HC700-G.

Do the following:

Disconnect the HC700-G.

•

Remove ActiveSync using Add/Remove Programs.

Install ActiveSync.
