Drive
Choose one of the ST drive models from the drop down list on the upper right. The -S models can be used
for three types of applications
1) Applications where another device controls the MSSTAC6 by sending electrical signals over wires. The
signals can be digital positioning pulses (step & direction or quadrate encoder following modes) or a velocity
mode where the motor speed is selected by digital and/or analog signals.
2) Applications where a host PC or PLC sends high level commands over a serial port (RS-232 or RS-485)
using the Serial Command Language (SCL)
3) Multi-axis applications where a control program is stored in a MisNet Hub and one or more MSSTAC6
drives are connected to it.
The -I models are used with the Mis Programmer software where motion and machine control programs
can be quickly and easily created in a user friendly, graphical environment. The STAC6 Configurator is not
needed to set up or program a MSSTAC6-I drive; the Mis Programmer can handle everything. However, if an
-I model will be used in an -S model mode, the STAC6 Configurator is needed.
The -Q models can store and execute powerful programs written in MOONS' exclusive Q language and
can simultaneously interact with an intelligent host over RS-232 or RS-485. The drive is setup with the
STAC6 Configurator, then the Q Programmer is used to create and test a Q program. A -Q model can also be
used in -S model mode.
All three drives work with the MisNetHub.
