MONTEREY

BOATS

Electrical System

battery # 2, will automatically close and direct
a portion of the charging current to battery # 2.
Both batteries will continue to be charged until
the engine is shutdown and the automatic relay
opens, isolating the batteries.

When the engine is shutdown, the relay automati-
cally opens, isolating the batteries. Whenever the
engine is not running the battery selector switch
should be set to either the battery # 1 or the
battery # 2 position. This will keep one battery
in reserve for starting the engine. The battery
switch should be turned to the “OFF” position when
leaving the boat unattended.

NOTICE:

Current is supplied to the automatic float

switches for the bilge pumps and high wa-
ter alarm (264FSC), the electronic corrosion
controller, electronic engine control memo-
ry, stereo memory and the cabin CO monitor
(cuddy cabin models) when the batteries
are connected and the battery switch is off.

CAUTION

EXTENDED TROLLING MOTOR OPERATION CAN DRAIN BOTH
BATTERIES TO THE POINT THAT THE ENGINE WILL NOT START
IF THE MAIN BATTERY SELECTOR SWITCH IS SET TO THE 1
& 2 POSITION WHILE THE TROLLING MOTOR IS OPERATING.
ALWAYS MOVE THE MAIN SELECTOR SWITCH TO THE # 1
OR # 2 POSITION WHENEVER OPERATING THE TROLLING
MOTOR TO KEEP ONE BATTERY IN RESERVE FOR STARTING
THE ENGINE.
