Exterior Equipment

Rear Top Folded Open

Cabin Door (264FSC)

The cabin door slides on a top and bottom track.
A lockable latch secures the door in the closed
position. A special vinyl-covered latch near the
bottom door track secures the door in the open
position. Steps built into the cabin door provide
access to the walk-thru windshield and the deck
when the boat is at the dock or at anchor.

It is very important that the cabin door is secured
properly in the open or closed position. The cabin
door is heavy and if it is not properly latched, it
could slide when the boat rocks and pinch some-

one’s fingers between the door and the bulkhead

or damage the door. Additionally, the door must
be closed and latched securely before using the
steps to access the walk-thru windshield and deck.

WARNING

TO AVOID SERIOUS INJURY, MAKE SURE THE CABIN DOOR
IS SECURELY LATCHED IN THE CLOSED POSITION BEFORE
USING THE STEPS TO ACCESS THE WINDSHIELD WALK-THRU.
NEVER USE THE STEPS WITH THE DOOR PARTIALLY OPEN
OR WHEN THE DOOR IS NOT SECURELY LATCHED. IF THE
LATCH MALFUNCTIONS AND WILL NOT SECURE THE DOOR
PROPERLY, STOP USING THE STEPS UNTIL THE LATCH IS
REPAIRED OR REPLACED.

When closing the door, make sure you push the

door against the door jam with enough pressure

to allow the latch to secure the door.  When the
door is open, it must be properly secured with
the latch near the bottom door track and to the
port side of the companionway.  To latch the door
in the open position, open the door completely,
then rotate the latch to lay on the track in front
of the door preventing the open door from sliding
as the boat rocks.

The door is made of fiberglass. The fiberglass

gelcoat can be chipped if the vinyl-covered latch
that secures it in the open position is not in good
condition. It should be changed whenever it shows
signs of deterioration from the exposure to ele-
ments. Please refer to the Routine Maintenance
chapter for information on the proper care and

maintenance of fiberglass gelcoat.
