• If you want to save the data from each plate or set of plates to a
different data file, select
Open a New Protocol
. For example, if
you have 50 sample plates and the assigned protocol has one
Plate section, the software opens 49 copies of the protocol and
saves the data to 50 data files. Alternatively, if you have 4 sets of 5
plates (1 control plate and 4 sample plates) and the assigned
protocol has 5 plate sections, the software opens 4 instances of
the protocol for each set of plates and saves the data to 4 data
files. This option allows you to easily automate the processing of
plate sets without the need to develop a script.
• If you want to save the data from all of the plates to the same data
file, select
Append a Plate Section
. For example, if you have 50
sample plates and the assigned protocol has one Plate section,
the software adds 49 Plate sections to the original protocol and
the data from all of the plates is saved in a single data file.
Source Protocol:
Click Assign to select a protocol. The Choose a
Protocol for reading window appears. See Figure 5-20 .
