Bleeding the fuel system

Make sure that any fire hazard is not around the work area when handling fuel.
Wipe off spilled fuel thoroughly. It can cause a fire.
After cleaning or replacing fuel system components, bleed the components.
Note:
Air trapped in the fuel injection pipe and nozzle is automatically exhausted when cranking the engine.
Bleeding the fuel filter (Cock type)
1.
Place the fuel filter cock in the “AIR” position.
2.
Feed fuel using the solenoid pump.
3.
Return the cock to the “ON” position when the fuel
flow from over flow pipe becomes free of bubbles.
4.
Stop the fuel delivery.

Bleeding the fuel filter (Cartridge type)
1.
Loosen the fuel filter air vent plug “1.”
2.
Deliver fuel by solenoid pump.
3.
Tighten the air vent plug “1” when the fuel flow
from the air vent plug becomes free of bubbles.
4.
Loosen the fuel filter air vent plug “2.”
5.
Tighten the air vent plug “2” when the fuel flow
from the air vent plug becomes free of bubbles.
6.
Stop the fuel delivery.

Bleeding water sedimenter
1.
Loosen the water sedimenter's air vent plug at fuel
inlet side.
2.
Deliver fuel by solenoid pump.
3.
Tighten the air vent plug at inlet side when the fuel
flow from the air vent plug becomes free of bub-
bles.
4.
Loosen the air vent plug at fuel outlet side.
5.
Tighten the air vent plug at outlet side when the
fuel flow from the air vent plug becomes free of
bubbles.
6.
Stop the fuel delivery.
