Simple inspection and service
1.1
Before jacking up the vehicle
•
Park the vehicle on a flat, hard surface. Pull the
parking brake all the way on. If your vehicle has
a manual transmission, place the gearshift lever
in the neutral position. If your vehicle is
equipped with the DUONIC system, place the
gearshift lever in the “P” position.
•
Be sure to stop the engine.
•
If you get a flat tire while on the road and need
to change it on the spot, pull up your vehicle in a
safe place where it will not block traffic, and
cause your hazard warning lamps to flash and
use a red or white flag or cloth to give warning to
passing vehicles.
•
Have all passengers get out of the vehicle.
•
Block with a chock the tire diagonally opposite to
the tire to be replaced.
Example:
Block the left front tire if the right rear tire is to be
replaced.
•
Prepare the spare tire.
2 Using the hydraulic jack
2.1
To raise
1. If the place you wish to apply the jack to is too
high, extend the ram head by turning it coun-
terclockwise.
2. Using the slit at the end of the wrench handle
(onboard tool), turn the release valve clock-
wise to screw it in.
