LAN Configuration

For SNMP Traps related LAN configuration setting, please refer to IPMI v2.0 spec
Chapter 23.2 Get LAN Configuration Parameters Command “Table 23-4 LAN
Configuration Parameters”, because E8020 BMC follows IPMI v2.0 spec definition to
implement related functions. So BMC doesn’t allow user to enter host name to set
LAN configuration.

Get/Set LAN Configuration Parameters

In order to reflect the capabilities provided by the BMC for some of the network
settings, the values for some of the parameter data is defined as shown below.

DHCP

In addition to the usual methods of obtaining an IP address, the BMC provides a
mode where it attempts to obtain an IP address from a DHCP server for a given
period of time and if unsuccessful fails over to using a static IP address.
