POWER SAVE

This setting determines the length of time that the printer will stand
between jobs before it powers down to a “sleep” mode. You can pre-
vent the printer from entering the Power Save mode by specifying a
value of zero. When the printer is in the Power Save mode, it will
automatically start warming up as soon as it receives a print job, the
On line key is pressed, or when the side cover is opened and closed.

AUTO CONTINUE

This setting specifies whether the printer will automatically recover
whenever an Error or Caution alert is detected.
See “Auto-Continuable Message” on page 7-30.

PAPER TIMEOUT

This setting specifies whether the printer will automatically recover
whenever “paper size mismatch error” or “manual feed paper
empty” is detected.

PRIORITY SOURCE

This setting specifies the priority order of paper sources when
AUTO is selected on the Paper Source menu.

CASSETTE LOCK

This setting prevents the use of a specified paper source when
AUTO is selected on the Paper Source menu. The same tray that is
selected in the Priority Source menu cannot be specified here.

Note

• The cassette lock feature is not available when the optional PostScript

SIMM is installed in the printer and a PostScript print job is sent from
the computer.
