If the PTT speaker settings configured in the MinePhone are as follows:
#audio.output.speaker.ptt.gain.min=1
#audio.output.speaker.ptt.gain.step=3
• The PTT speaker has a 1dB gain at the lowest volume setting.
• Each volume increment will adjust the volume level by 3dB. For example, adjusting the volume level
from the lowest setting up one increment, increases the gain to 4dB. Increasing the volume by 4 steps
from the minimum gives a gain of 13dB.
4.4.4 Editing Phone Specific Configuration Files
The miphone_XXXXXXXXXXXX.conf file contains settings for a specific MinePhone. The handset
recognises the specific file by reading the MAC address in the file name. There is typically a phone specific
configuration file for each handset contained on the TFTP server.
Note that any parameter from the site settings file can be overwritten in the phone specific configuration
file. It is recommended the only the settings which are different be entered into the phone specific
configuration file for easy maintenance.
The example below includes two setting that can be edited:
• Sip.register.auth — Phone extension number that is authorised to the SIP server.
• Sip.register.name — Name of the handset.

To edit a handset's phone number and name:
1. Open miphone_XXXXXXXXXXXX.conf in a text editor.
2. Assign a new ChangeNum value.
3. Edit the fields as required.
4. Save the file with the phone's MAC address in the file name. Place the root directory of the TFTP
directory, for example, c:\\tftp.
4.5 Updating the MinePhone
The MinePhone can be configured to update in two ways:
1. Automatically update by enabling TFTP connection and entering the TFTP server address. Once
configured phone must be rebooted. Refer to
Editing the Site Settings File on page 40 and for
configuration details.
2. Manually initiate TFTP download by navigating to Settings > Network > Signal Protocol > TFTP
> TFTP download .
Once the phone is properly configured, it will download and apply change.txt, binary firmware files and
configuration files one at a time. This process can take over 15 minutes if a firmware update is being
applied.
Note:
Please ensure there is sufficient battery life before updating.
